The $12 rice cooker that paid for itself in 3 weeks
I grabbed a tiny 3-cup rice cooker at a thrift store for 12 bucks last month. My old way was boiling rice in a pot and burning the bottom half every single time. Now I dump rice and water in, press a button, and go fold laundry. I figure I've made about 30 meals with it already. That's like 40 cents a meal for the cooker. My electric bill didn't even go up. Anyone else found a secondhand gadget that actually works better than the fancy new stuff?
