My grocery buddy in Cincinnati told me she plans meals around what's on sale, not what she craves
I always made a list from recipes and then went shopping, which meant buying $4 bags of shredded cheese when blocks were on sale for $1.99. She pulls the store flyer first on Tuesday nights, picks 3 cheap proteins, and builds the week from there, and her bill dropped from about $140 to $95. Does anyone else shop the sales first, or do you stick to your list no matter what?
