Set 400 bricks on the Thompson ave job without a single re-level
Had a rough stretch in July where every course seemed to fight me, but this past Tuesday on the Thompson Ave duplex everything just clicked. The mortar hit right, my corners stayed true, and I ran through about 400 bricks before lunch without having to pull a single one. My trowel hand finally felt like it knew what it was doing instead of just guessing. Anybody else have those days where the wall just builds itself and you wonder why it can't be like that every time?
400 bricks before lunch is no joke, that mix must have been just right for the weather. Only tip I've got is to write down what the mortar felt like that day so you can chase that same setup next time.
