Rain on a Monday job in Charlotte threw my whole mix off

We were halfway through a garden wall when a shower hit and the mortar started slumping bad, even with the tarp up. Turns out the sand we got from the new supplier held way more moisture than what I'm used to, so now I check the pile with my hand before I add any water. Anyone else run into supplier sand acting different after a wet spell?
