Vent: got burned 3 weeks ago at my desk in Cincinnati by reheating fish, now HR sent a whole email about the break room microwave
I nuked salmon at 12:15 on a Tuesday and by 12:40 the whole floor smelled like a pier, and now there's a printed sign taped to the microwave that says no seafood, so has anyone else gotten a building-wide memo because of one lunch mistake?

Feel for you on this one, getting called out in front of the whole office over a lunch mishap is rough. My old job had a similar thing happen after someone microwaved leftover curry, and we ended up with a laminated sign and a very awkward all-staff email about food smells. It is wild how one person's lunch can turn into a company policy, but at least you know you are not the first person to set off the office microwave alarm.
