Walked past a $12 Japanese maple at Home Depot every week for 2 months before giving in
I kept going back and forth between that tiny thing and a $30 native dogwood at the local nursery, and while the dogwood was the smarter pick for pollinators, that maple's red leaves just looked too good against my beige siding, so I grabbed it last Saturday and I'm already worried about keeping it alive this winter, has anyone else gone with the pretty option over the practical one and regretted it or found it was worth the fuss?
