I thought the old timer at the nursery in Lexington was pulling my leg about talking to my plants
Back in 2019 I bought a fiddle leaf fig and some guy at a nursery in Lexington told me to talk to it every morning while I watered. I figured he was just being folksy until I read about how vibration can affect stomata and then my own plant put out 4 new leaves in a row after I started chatting with it daily. Is there anyone here who actually does this, or did I just get lucky with the light in my kitchen?
Oh man, if talking to it really does something I need to step up my game beyond just the watering day mumbling. Maybe the sound waves get the air moving around the leaves a bit, kind of like a little breeze, and that gets them breathing better. Either way, 4 new leaves in a row is no joke, I'd keep right on chatting it up.
