Honestly, that $150 'smart' plant monitor was a total waste for my indoor setup
Tbh, I bought the FloraSense Pro last spring thinking it would solve all my watering guesswork. It promised to track soil moisture, light levels, and fertilizer needs. After six months, the app kept telling me my Monstera needed water when the soil was still damp from my last check. I followed its alerts for a month and nearly killed a mature pothos from overwatering. Ended up just going back to my old finger-in-the-soil method. Has anyone else found these gadgets more trouble than they're worth for basic houseplants?

Yeah, that "finger in the soil" method you went back to is honestly the best tech out there. These sensors can't account for stuff like pot material, room humidity, or how root-bound a plant is. I had a similar gadget give me bad readings because the sensor itself was messing with the soil density around it. For the price of that thing, you could buy a whole bunch of new plants instead.
