Update: my bone folder snapped clean in half on a 400 page rebind and I just sat there holding the little stub
Was pressing the signature down on a full leather rebind last night when the tip popped off and shot under the workbench, and I only found it this morning behind a jar of wheat paste, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has a go to backup tool for when your favorite one dies mid project?
Bone folders snap, it's just what they do. I keep a cheap plastic one in the drawer for exactly this reason. Not as nice to hold but it gets the job done when your good one breaks. Mine usually dies right when I'm almost done too, always the way it goes. Also a sharpened dowel works in a pinch if you're really stuck.
