Am I the only one who thinks the new guys are skipping the tube roller
Watched two apprentices at a job in Gary last month roll a 6 foot section of 2 inch boiler tube with a hammer and a dream, and the seam looked like a busted zipper. The old guys on my crew used to make us hand roll every practice piece on a bench before we ever touched a real boiler, and you could feel when the metal was ready. Anybody else seeing shops skip that step, or is it just the outfits I been picking up work with?
