Hit 1000 photo fixes in 8 months, now I'm second guessing my own method
I've been helping out on this sub since January and just crossed 1000 replies where I suggest the same basic fix: steady the camera, raise the shutter speed, clean the lens. It works most of the time, but yesterday I realized I've been ignoring a whole group of posts where the blur is from moving subjects, not camera shake. My go-to advice does nothing for those. Half of me thinks I should stick with what I know and let others handle action shots, the other half feels like I'm doing people a disservice by not learning sports or pet photography settings. Anyone else hit a milestone like this and realize their standard advice has a blind spot?
1000 fixes in 8 months is wild, that's like 4 a day of telling people the same three things over and over (which, fair, most blurry pics really are just shaky hands and a dirty lens). The funny part is you didn't have a blind spot, you had a specialty, and now you're out here feeling guilty for not being the sports pet action guy too. Learn the panning thing if you want, but nobody's mad at the person who's really good at one fix.
