I blew $22 on pickle juice soda at a fair in Tulsa and I'm still mad about it

So there's this big debate in my head about whether pickle juice in soda is a real snack or just a dare food, and I finally paid to find out. Two weeks ago at the Tulsa State Fair I dropped $22 on three cups of it, one with cola, one with lemon lime, and one with grape. The cola one was drinkable, the other two made me gag and I dumped them in a trash can by the ferris wheel. Some folks swear the brine cuts the sugar and makes it taste like a salty margarita, but I think they're lying to themselves. Am I wrong here, or is pickle soda just a scam the fair food stands run every year?
