I used to marathon 3 seasons at a time, now I cap it at 2 episodes a night

I used to crush shows like Breaking Bad in a weekend and then feel totally burned out by episode 15. Last fall I started watching just 2 episodes of The Americans per night and I actually remember character names now. Anyone else do small doses to make good shows last longer?

Last December I tried watching The Crown one episode every other night and ended up dreading the next episode because I forgot what happened. Two episodes a night works better for me too, especially with shows like Mindhunter where every detail matters. I started keeping a little notebook with character names and plot points for The Americans and it actually helped me track the double agents better. Small doses make the storytelling sink in deeper, plus you don't feel like you're rushing through someone's entire life story in one sitting.

Yeah exactly, @uma_martinez I get where you're coming from but for slower burn shows like The Americans or The Crown, spacing it out a bit lets you sit with the tension longer instead of blowing through it and missing the weight of each move they make.

oh I gotta disagree a little here. binging a show like Mindhunter in big chunks actually helps me catch those little details better because everything is fresh in my mind. waiting a day between episodes makes me lose the thread of who's interviewing who and what the evidence means.
