The $20 torque wrench adapter that saved my carbon bars
Picked up a generic torque adapter off Amazon for about 20 bucks after I kept second-guessing my feel on carbon parts. Snapped a bolt head clean off a stem last month, but this thing beeped before I did the same to the bars. Anyone else run cheap torque tools or do you spring for the fancy digital ones?

The beep before the snap is exactly why I grabbed a cheap one too. It’s funny how we’ll trust a $5 kitchen scale for baking but second guess ourselves on stuff that could hurt us. Same with tire pressure gauges, I used to just squeeze the sidewall until it felt hard, then realized that’s how you end up with a blowout on the highway. Cheap tools that give you a clear yes or no are worth way more than the fancy stuff that just makes you feel cool in the garage.
