The 1999 shop manual that keeps making more sense now
I dug out a Park Tool handbook from my first shop job three years ago to fix a seized freehub last week, and I keep wondering if those old torque specs were stricter because frames were beefier back then, so has anyone else found old manuals that explain modern problems better than current guides?
You really think frame stiffness is the main thing there, or is it more that newer manuals assume you've got a whole shop of fancy tools and skip the basic tricks...
