That $45 spoke tension meter finally made sense to me
Been building wheels for a year and always just squeezed spokes and listened for pitch, but I finally dropped $45 on a cheap tensiometer and checked a rear wheel I built last month. Turns out my drive side was way tighter than I thought, like 15 units off on the Park Tool scale, and the wheel had been pulling to the right on hard sprints. Has anyone else found that a budget tool totally changed their wheel building, or is the expensive one worth biting the bullet for?
