Pro tip: A $15 torque wrench from Harbor Freight beats guessing with a hex key every time
I've seen three cracked carbon seatposts this month from guys just cranking it down, but the cheap wrench stops that dead. Anyone else switched to torque specs for everything now?

My old aluminum stem had a hairline crack for months before I noticed. The 5nm setting on my cheap wrench feels like nothing, but it's perfect. I check everything now, even bottle cage bolts.

My old seatpost is probably still in therapy from my pre-torque wrench days. That harbor freight special saved me from myself.

Seriously, that exact move saved my handlebars. I was always just tightening until it "felt right" and almost stripped a bolt. The cheap wrench showed me how wrong I was.
