Finally hit 500 bottom bracket threads chased without a single cross-thread

It took me six years and a lot of careful starts with a hand tap. Anyone else have a shop ritual that's paid off like this?

My buddy at the shop had this whole thing about cleaning the threads with a toothbrush before starting. Ever see someone do that? He swore it was why he never messed one up.

Well that's a level of thread cleaning I can't even imagine. I just blow the dust out and hope for the best, which explains my own personal cross-thread count.
