Brass ferrules over plastic crimp ends on a customer's commuter build, and the cable drag difference surprised me
Had a guy bring in a 2019 Trek FX last week with shifting that felt like wet rope even after a full cable swap. I redid his housing with brass ferrules and a proper 4 inch radius at the bars instead of the plastic crimp caps he had on there, and the rear derailleur snapped through the gears like it was new. Is it just me, or does half the bad shifting out there come down to housing ends and not the derailleur at all?
