Talked to an old painter at the flea market and he said to stop using cheap rollers for trim work
He told me it takes 3 coats to look like 1 with a cheap roller and it stuck with me since I just wasted 2 hours redoing a door frame with a $1.50 roller from the hardware store, anyone else had that moment where a stranger's tip saved you more than any deal you found?

Yeah but did you get the fuzzy ceiling look for free? That's the real deal right there.

That bit about "3 coats to look like 1 with a cheap roller" hits hard... I had the same kind of wake up call last month when I was painting my living room ceiling with a super cheap roller and ended up with lint all stuck in the paint. Had to sand the whole thing down and start over after wasting a whole Saturday. That old painter knew what he was talking about, sometimes the best advice comes from random folks at the flea market who've been doing this for decades. Saves you money in the long run too, since you're not buying extra paint to cover up a bad roller job.
