TIL my clipper blades were dull the whole time, not my technique

Ive been fading for like 3 years now and always blamed myself when lines came out patchy or the blend looked off. Last week I was swapping blades on my main clipper and decided to test the old one on a piece of paper, just slicing through it like I saw in a youtube video from a barber in Houston. Turns out that blade was catching and tearing instead of cutting clean. I replaced it with a fresh set and the next two cuts I did came out so smooth I honestly thought I leveled up overnight. The dull blade was making me press harder too, which caused irritation on clients with sensitive skin around the neck. Now I check every blade with the paper test before my first appointment of the day, takes like 10 seconds. Any of you guys do something similar or just replace on a schedule? Has anyone else dealt with a blade that seemed fine but was secretly wrecking your fades?
