Remember when a fade was just a taper with clippers?

Three years ago in my old shop, a skin fade took me 25 minutes and a lot of stress. Now I can do a clean one in 12, but I kinda miss the slower, chatty pace we had back then. Anyone else feel like the speed expectation has changed the vibe?

Oh man, my buddy was just saying the same thing! He had a regular who switched shops because his new guy does a "speed fade" in like ten minutes flat. It's efficient, but my friend says it killed their whole catch-up session. Feels like a different job now.

Man, that reminds me of my old barber. He'd take his sweet time with a straight razor on the back of your neck. It was the whole point of going there. Now my new place uses clippers for everything, even the edges. It's just not the same vibe at all.

Totally get that. Miss the old pace where you could actually talk to a client.
