One of those Saturdays where every chair was booked and I still lost money
Last Saturday was wild, 12 cuts straight from open to close, never sat down once. But three no-shows in the afternoon left me hanging for almost 45 minutes total, and my walk-in rate was way down compared to last month. Also the clipper guard I dropped on the tile cracked, that's a $30 replacement just to keep my kit solid. Felt like I worked harder for less than a normal Tuesday, which just messes with your head. Anyone else have a day where the numbers made no sense even though the chairs were full?
Counting those 45 lost minutes as pure dead time really puts it in perspective. I've had days where I'm slammed back to back but every slot was a trim or a kid's cut, so the till looks like a slow Tuesday. It's like the universe punishes you for staying busy. Then you gotta tack on that $30 guard, and suddenly the whole day feels like you paid to work there. Honestly, sometimes I think the shop ghosts just mess with the numbers to keep us humble.
