Just hit chair #3000 and my wrist finally gave out, listen to your hands
I was doing a taper on a regular last Thursday and my right thumb went numb mid fade. Counted it up after and that was around clipper cut 3000 for me since I started at the shop on 5th Street three years back. The thing is I ignored the tingling for about 8 months because I thought it was just from holding the clippers too tight. Now I am looking at wrist brace and a $180 chiropractor bill and cutting with my left hand half the time. If your fingers buzz after a busy Saturday do not brush it off like I did, stretch between clients or drop the clipper weight. What stretches actually work for you guys because the ones on YouTube are not doing it for me?
Funny how we do this with everything, not just hands. Roofers with shot knees, nurses with bad backs, nobody wants to stop until something breaks. The body keeps a tab running the whole time and then hands you the bill all at once. For stretches, the ones that helped my forearms were slow wrist curls with a light dumbbell and the prayer stretch where you press your palms together and lower your hands. The YouTube stuff moves too fast, you have to hold each one a full 30 seconds or it does nothing.
