That butter softening trick I tried last night actually worked
I got sick of waiting forever for butter to get soft enough for cookies. I always end up with cold lumps or melted messes in the microwave. So I tried grating a cold stick of butter on a cheese grater straight into the bowl. Figured it was dumb but whatever, I was desperate after ruining like 2 batches last month. It mixed into the sugar in under a minute, no waiting around. The dough came together way smoother than usual too. Has anyone else tried this or got a better hack for cold butter?

Always thought grating was overkill but tried it last week and won't go back.
