TIL the 'no parking' sign on my street in Dayton is actually real, and I owe the guy across the hall an apology
Last month I saw a car parked half on the curb near the hydrant on my block and figured it was just another sloppy job, so I snapped a pic for here and moved on. Turns out my neighbor across the hall had been calling the city about that exact spot for 3 months, and they finally put up a sign I had walked past like 50 times without reading. I felt dumb when he showed me the permit number and a printed copy of the ordinance, because I had been sure it was a fake sign someone bolted to a post. The car got ticketed 2 days later, $85, and the driver was mad but the sign held up. So has anyone else been totally wrong about whether a sign or a painted curb really counts as a no parking zone? I want to know how you check before you post it here.
