Squeaky hinge on my closet door fixed with a $1 item from the grocery store
My closet door in my apartment has been making this awful screech for about 3 weeks, loud enough that my neighbor asked if I got a pet bird. I tried oil, tried soap, even tried holding the door weird when I opened it, nothing worked. Then my grandma told me to rub a pencil on the hinge, and I kid you not, the graphite killed the noise on the first try. It has been quiet for 5 days now and I keep opening the door just to hear nothing. What random household item has saved you from a small but constant annoyance?
