Spent 45 minutes on a grocery store run for 3 things and came home empty handed

Went to grab milk, bread, and eggs after work and walked out with nothing because the self checkout machine kept yelling at me about unexpected items in the bagging area. The manager had to come reset it twice and I just gave up. How do you all deal with those stupid machines without losing your mind?

Did you try the handheld scanner thing some stores have? Those are way less stressful because you scan as you shop and just pay at a kiosk without all the bagging drama.

Did you check if the store has a dedicated cashier lane for express orders with just a few items?
