The zucchini that turned into a baseball bat and ruined my compost bin

Last August I went out of town for 5 days and asked my neighbor to water my patch. When I got back there was this one zucchini that had gone full Hulked up, must have been 18 inches long and as thick as my forearm. I tried to chop it for the compost bin but the thing was so woody my knife just bounced off. I ended up using my pruning saw just to break it into pieces, and then my dumb self tossed the whole thing in there without thinking. Next time I opened the bin, a bunch of those rock-hard seeds had sprouted and were basically taking over the pile. Now I check my squash plants every single morning during peak season, no exceptions. Has anyone else had a monster veggie get away from them like that, or am I the only one who let a zucchini weaponize itself?

That 18-incher sounds like it was plotting revenge, but the seeds taking over your bin is the real kicker. Guess you learned the hard way that those monsters are basically squash grenades waiting to go off.
