Poured a concrete pad for my grill, sort of wish I had gone with pavers instead
My patio had a 6 foot dirt patch where the old shed sat, so I had to pick between a poured concrete pad or gravel pavers for setting up my grill and smoker. Went with concrete because it was $300 cheaper and the guy said it would be done in a day, but now the smoker grease stains it and it holds heat like you would not believe in July. Anyone else regret pouring instead of going with something that drains better?
The grease stains and heat holding is real, I had the same problem with my concrete pad. What saved me was sealing it with a good concrete sealer, that keeps the grease from soaking in so you can just wipe it up. For the heat, I put down those rubber interlocking tiles over the concrete where I stand and it made a huge difference in July. Also got one of those mats with a lip under the smoker to catch drips before they hit the surface.
