I finally got my patio umbrella to stop wobbling after a windy afternoon in Omaha
The base snapped clean off during a storm last spring, so I filled a 5-gallon bucket with concrete and set the pole in it before it dried. Anyone have a better fix for a cheap umbrella stand?

How many problems are solved by just throwing concrete at them? That's like the universal fix for anything that needs to stay put.

Concrete is the duct tape of construction, honestly. It just works for keeping stuff from moving around. Not pretty, but it gets the job done.

Concrete is basically THE answer for almost everything wobbly, honestly. @the_linda is right that it's the duct tape of construction, it just does the job. Cheap umbrella stands are garbage, the plastic breaks if you look at it wrong. A bucket full of concrete is ugly but it's not going ANYWHERE, which is what matters. That's a solid fix, you probably won't need a better one.
