Finally got my pergola shade ratio right after 4 tries
Fought with 60% shade cloth for two summers, plants kept frying by 2pm. Swapped to 75% on the west side last week and the whole patio is actually usable now. Anyone else have to mix shade densities instead of one size?

Can't say I've ever needed that much shade. I run 50% up top and honestly the plants seem happier with some direct sun through the day. Maybe it's your zone or what you're growing, but mine would get leggy and stretched if I blocked 75% of the light on any side. Different strokes I guess, but I'd check what the actual plants need before swapping more cloth.
