Everyone's obsessed with the Pacific Crest Trail but the Wind River High Route is the real deal
They just follow the crowd, missing the raw navigation and off-trail freedom. I spent 8 days out there last August and saw maybe three other groups. What's a route you think gets overlooked because it's not on a big name list?

Wait, you only saw three groups in eight days? That's insane. Honestly sounds like a dream.

You said it sounds like a dream, and it really was. We spent whole days just soaking in each place instead of rushing to the next spot. That slow pace is what made the trip so special.

Totally agree about that slow pace being the key. I feel like so many people miss that, they just want to check boxes on a list. Robertbrown calling it a dream is right, because trying to actually do it feels impossible with regular crowds. You basically won the tourist lottery getting that kind of quiet time. Makes the whole experience way more real when you're not fighting through a crowd just to see something.
