Serious question, my face went completely red last Tuesday and I only figured out why 4 days later
So I'm at the tire shop on Grand Ave waiting on my car, and this guy walks up and starts talking to me like we're old buddies. I just nod along, throw in a laugh here and there, because I figure he's some regular who knows my brother or whatever. Turns out he wasn't talking to me at all. He was on a Bluetooth call the whole time and I'd been making eye contact with a stranger for 6 solid minutes. His actual buddy was sitting 3 chairs over and had been watching my whole act. The thing that fixed it for me was simple, I now glance at the ear before I nod. It sounds dumb but I went from 3 or 4 of these messes a week down to zero since March. Has anyone else been faked out by the invisible earbud, or is it just me?
The whole bluetooth thing gets worse when you're wearing sunglasses because you can't even see if their eyes are tracking you or the person behind you. My barber on 5th has a sign up now asking people to take calls outside and honestly more places should do that. At least your guy's buddy got a free show out of it.
