That Painted-On Corrosion on the 737 Kept Fooling Me Until Tulsa
I spent three days chasing a corrosion reading near the aft cargo bay on an old 737, swapping LRUs and reseating connectors like an idiot. Turned out a previous tech had slapped green zinc-chromate primer over surface rust and called it good, you could see it flaking if you hit it with a 10x loop. Drove me nuts because my corrosion probe kept flagging the same spot, but the paint made it look fine to the naked eye. Anyone else run into cosmetic cover-ups that pass initial inspection in oddball places, and what's your go-to way to confirm before you tear into the harness? I'm in Wilmington now and this hangar seems to have a few creative souls.

Scrape the area with a 10x loop before touching anything else, that paint always cracks around the edges first.
