Comparator vs multimeter on a bad PFD, guess which one lied
Had a 737 G1000 PFD acting flaky in the shop near Tulsa last Tuesday. I spent 2 hours chasing a ghost with a Fluke 87V, then grabbed an old comparator box from the back shelf and found the bad cap in 15 minutes. The multimeter said 3.2V steady but the comparator caught the ripple on pin 14. Anyone else still keep one of those dinosaur test rigs around just for these weird faults?
