Last Wednesday I accidentally fixed a customer's oil leak with a zip tie

Was swapping out a valve cover gasket on an old Chevy and a coolant hose clamp snapped right as I was about to button it up... used a heavy duty zip tie as a temporary clamp so they could drive home, and they came back a week later saying the leak was gone for good. Has anyone else had a janky fix turn into a permanent solution?

Duct tape held a radiator hose together on my old truck for two years. Never planned on it lasting that long but it just kept working. Ended up selling the truck with the duct tape still on there. Sometimes the janky fixes just do the job better than the proper parts.
