Customer argued with me about a brake noise for 45 minutes, then admitted it was the radio
Guy in a 2012 F-150 swore up and down it was the calipers, so I pulled the wheel and showed him brand new pads and rotors before he finally said, "Oh, that screech only happens when I hit a bump." Turns out his door speaker was blown and rattling against the panel, and he'd wasted my whole Tuesday morning for a $3 zip tie fix. Anyone else have a customer who fought the diagnosis harder than the repair?

That $3 zip tie fix is hilarious but also sad lmao. Did you charge him the labor for the diag time before you found it, or did you just eat the 45 minutes and send him on his way? I always wonder how shops handle that kind of thing cause some people would be furious getting billed for something that was just a speaker rattle.
