Used to mask a whole fender with newspaper and blue tape, now it's 3M foam tape and a plastic bag in 10 minutes
Back in 2019 at the shop in Mesquite I'd spend 45 minutes taping off trim for a spot repair, and half the time a corner would lift and I'd get overspray on a door handle. A painter named Rudy showed me the foam rope trick last spring and now I mask a fender in 10 minutes flat, so what's your go-to for tight gaps around mirrors?

My masking skills around mirrors are so bad the tape gives up and falls off on its own. Foam rope works for the big gaps but those mirror corners still get me, so I stuff a bit of foam in first and then run thin tape over it. Beats my old method of just painting the mirror and calling it a design choice.
