TIL my old boss was right about welding a panel edge before filler
I used to skip the weld-through step on quarter panel seams and just load filler over the gap, but a guy named Ray from the shop down the street in Dayton told me a story about a '67 Chevelle seam popping after 6 months of summer heat and it made me think twice. He said 'filler doesn't hold a seam, steel does' and honestly it stuck with me more than anything my old boss ever barked at me. How many of you actually weld your seams shut versus trusting the filler to bridge it?
