TIL a possum living in a customer's fender made my whole week weird and great
So last Wednesday this guy drops off a 2009 Corolla for a dent pull on the rear quarter, nothing special, maybe a $450 job. I get it on the frame machine around 9am and hear this scratching sound, like a wire brush on metal, but nobody else is in the bay. I pop the trunk and there's a possum just chilling in the gap behind the tail light housing, staring at me like I owe him rent. I grab a broom, he grabs my lunch bag by the handle, we do this slow dance around the lift for like 10 minutes while my buddy Dave films the whole thing instead of helping. The guy who owns the car shows up at 4pm to pick it up and I have to explain his car came with a tenant, and he just laughs and says keep the dent money, buddy, you earned it. Got the possum out eventually with a can of tuna and a milk crate, no bites, no scratches, and I swear that little guy waddled off looking offended. Any of you ever pull interior panels and find a whole animal apartment in there?
