Showerthought: watched a rust bubble on a customer's Tacoma go from dime-size to eating the whole bedside in 7 months
Guy brought in a 2018 Tacoma back in October with a tiny bubble about the size of a dime right over the rear wheel arch. Told him we could sand it down and seal it for maybe $300, and he said he'd think on it. He came back two weeks ago and that same spot had chewed through nearly eight inches of the bedside, all because the salt from the winter roads kept working under the paint. I'm not sore about the lost job, I'm sore because I now have to cut and weld in a patch panel and repaint half the bed, and he's staring at a $1,400 bill wondering how it got this bad. What do you all tell customers who want to wait on a bubble, and do you have a line that actually gets through to them?
