I used to swear by waterborne paint until I tried solvent again on a job last month

Been doing collision work for 8 years and always pushed waterborne for being safer to breathe. But I had a 2018 silver F-150 that kept getting fisheye with the water stuff. Switched back to solvent for that one panel and it laid down perfect first try. Anyone else find certain colors or primers work better with old school solvent?

Heard a painter say solvent grips better on certain clearcoats.

Man that fisheye issue is a nightmare. But here's what I'm wondering - was that F-150 using one of those newer high-solids clearcoats from the factory? Seems like the solvent just cuts through the silicone contamination way better when the base is already fighting you.
