20 years of guys sanding primer with 180 and wondering why they burn through
Just hit my 200th bumper respray at my bay in Reno and I finally stopped hearing guys argue about grit on sealer. You block primer at 400 to 600 wet on a DA, not 180, and you won't cut into your sealer coat or leave pigtails you have to chase with glaze. Curious what grit you all run on a urethane bumper before base.
Read a body shop thread last year where a guy said he switched from 180 to 500 wet on bumpers and his redo rate got cut in half. I run 600 wet on a DA myself and never have a problem with the base grabbing.
