Can we talk about the guy at the Grant Park farmers market who sold me the wrong kind of peach?
I bit into what he swore was a freestone and got a mouthful of pit, and now I ask to sample before I buy anything there. Does anyone know which stand actually labels their fruit right?
The "swore it was a freestone" thing is basically every market stand ever, nobody wants to admit they mixed up the bins. Same deal at the hardware store when a guy tells you a bolt will fit and it strips on the first turn. I just assume half of what I'm told anywhere is a guess now.
