Stacked my first mosaic of the Veil Nebula, single frame shots vs. then stitching them

I spent 3 nights capturing single wide-field shots of the Veil and the detail was muddy, but after I tried a 2x2 mosaic with a shorter focal length and overlapping 20% each frame, the filament structure finally popped, has anyone else found mosaics easier on their tracking mount than going ultra long?

Heard Adam Block say overlapping frames make stacking way more forgiving on tracking errors, so that tracks with what you found.
