Question about stacking images for planetary photography

Stacked fifty shots of Jupiter and the detail is much clearer than single frames, how many do you typically use?

Fifty frames is a serious stack. I usually tap out around twenty five, my setup just gets too noisy after that.

Sheesh, I'm the weak link in my own setup... my patience usually gives out before I hit twenty good ones.

Patience is the real battle here! I totally get hitting a wall around twenty frames. My gear starts drifting or the clouds roll in, and I just call it. But pushing past that feels so good when the stack comes out clean. Noise can ruin a shot, but so can rushing it. Finding your sweet spot is what makes this hobby fun!
