Took me 5 hours to unclog a slow bathroom sink because I trusted the wrong tool
Every plumber on YouTube says skip the drain snake and just use a $4 zip tool, but that thing couldn't grab a hairball I could see with a flashlight. I finally cut a coat hanger, bent a tiny hook on the end, and pulled the whole mess out of the trap arm in about 90 seconds. What's your go-to when the cheap fix everyone swears by does nothing?
My buddy had the exact same thing with the zip tool, it just slid right past the gunk and did zip. He ended up borrowing his wife's crochet hook and fished out a nasty blob in like two minutes. So yeah, sometimes the old weird tricks beat the fancy ones.
