Old oak removal turned into a 3 hour stump grind in Louisville

Last month I took down a 70 foot water oak near Cherokee Park. The trunk was fine but the stump had this massive root flare buried under 6 inches of topsoil, my Vermeer 252 almost overheated twice. I charged the homeowner $450 extra because nobody could see the concrete chunks tangled in those roots. Has anyone else dealt with hidden debris like old fence posts or driveway slabs when grinding?
