Warning: I spent a month in my garage trying to fix a weird fridge hum by replacing the compressor, only for my kid to point out the noise was coming from a toy robot stuck behind it.

Has anyone else had a customer call that turned out to be something totally unrelated to the appliance itself?

You gotta check the easy stuff first, right? A guy called last week about a dishwasher leak. He was ready to order a new pump. The problem was a cereal bowl tipped over on the counter above it. How do you miss that?

Used to think people just didn't pay attention. Now I check for the toy robot first every single time.
